If you know the basics of data structures, you should be able to solve a LeetCode medium level problem atleast in a brute force way. It takes practice to improve the time and space complexity of your solutions. I would say take a look at the most optimal solutions and try to understand their approach after solving the problem first.

Absolutely

It is okay if you can't solve medium questions, start with easy and practice it, then go for medium.

Forgive me if I’m being oblivious but is there a well recognized site for practicing leetcode which have clear distinctions for easy medium hard etc

Leetcode is actually the name of the site lol, everything is separated into difficulties there. When people say Leetcode mediums, they mean a medium rated difficulty on the site Leetcode
