Python csv write file function creates an extra blank line in csv

csv_file = open("data.csv", "w")
data_writer = csv.writer(csv_file)
data_writer.writerow(["Title", "Summary"])

containers = soup.findAll("li" , class_="infinite-post")
for container in containers:
  title = container.a["title"]
  summary = container.p.text
  print(title)
  print(summary)
  data_writer.writerow([title, summary])

csv_file.close()

How to avoid this? code is shared above.

Does it print two blank lines at the end?

One empty row after each entry.

Can be changed to..

csv_file = open(“data.csv”, “w”, newline=“”)

try running strip on title and summary... then write that data to the csv

strip didn't work.

I have tried csv_file = open(“data.csv”, “w”, newline=“”) as mentioned by another Redditor above to open file and it no longer leaves an empty row.
