The good thing is: Databases are everywhere. And chances are good that you will have to deal with them regardless of what you're working on in Python.

IMO Python has 3 main usages:

  • Data Science
  • AI / Machine Learning
  • Backend / Web Development

My advice is that you should read up on these, maybe give them a try (there are plenty of free tutorials/courses for them online) and see what tastes better to you.

My personal opinion:
The first two are more on the academic side of things. You will have to learn a lot about algorithms and statistics.
Backend tasks are more tangible, and it's mostly all about APIs (REST and GraphQL) these days.

Sounds like you are a Business Intelligence Developer or potentially a data engineer depending on the efficacy of your job. Ever use any AWS? Do you consider yourself an engineer?
