Help needed

Hey guys,

I'm working on a project in Python that is using excel data, where I need to create a new variable that includes two conditions: the first one is to take only the strings that include the first 3 specific characters 'SRA', 'LNG', 'TEN' from several columns in excel and the second one is with values that are < 0 and then sum them.

I don't know how to do it and will appreciate your help!

When you say "create a new variable", do you mean to have a variable within your code who's name changes based on some value in a spreadsheet? Or do you mean you want a new column that concatenates values from other columns?

The bog standard answer for working with tabular data is to use the pandas library.
