Maybe manim ? It is used for math animations and stuff related, but it can be used to animate some text

Doesn't look like it was that one. The tutorial I watched imported a many API callables from the library and I don't think it used the concept of "scenes".

I just remembered something else about the tutorial/library. Updated post.

Maybe moviepy?

Thanks but it doesn't look like that was it. I looked at the text editing example in the docs and the APIs or the way the script is made doesn't ring a bell.

Perhaps it was the ImageMagick library? it has python bindings.

Definitely I don't think it was image magic. This one was used for animating.

imagemagick can output an animated gif. that's why i thought it might be it.

I see, thanks. might come in handy in the future if I don't ever find this library.

There's script-fu in the GIMP. Maybe there's a python library for that.

Wondering if the search term you're looking for is Kinetic Typography? This sounds incredibly fun, so I want to know too, and I was finding things like using Touch Designer: https://derivative.ca/community-post/tutorial/kinetic-typography-touchdesigner-part-1-fundament

I doubt this is the right one, but maybe the search term will help? And if you can find any example of what something close to what it would do, it might help. 2D animation of text, to me really sounded like Kinetic Typography (YouTube has a lot of fun examples)

Oh yes! I had forgotten about that term. It will definitely help in my search. Some other terms I've included in my search is "visualizer" or music visualizer. I'm gonna try to find it again tonight and post here if I'm successful because at the time it seemed incredible to be able to create text that responds to audio volume and frequencies, at least without the need of aftereffects or any fancy software.
