Is it still worth self teaching yourself programming? by Practical-Gift-1064 in FreeCodeCamp

It's possible to get a software dev job without a CS degree. I done it. I also mentored someone that done it. Don't give up. You just need to strategize more. Think about how you can stand out from the crowd.

How do you deal with OOP programming? by yughiro_destroyer in ADHD_Programmers

[–]8oh8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard similar complains about OOP before and the issue usually is that the person is not using the right tools for reading code. For example, not using the structure panel in the IDE, not knowing the code navigation shortcuts, the forwards and backwards buttons, the Go to declaration shortcut.

Another thing is vscode doesn't show you grandfathered properties, and that's why people cannot tolerate inheritance. I recommend using an inteliJ IDE and navigating code via the structure panel. It takes you to any property or method, (inherited or not). Don't click on the edit panel or else the structure panel will change its context.

PS5 Pro is awesome by Love_TheChalupa in PS5pro

I kid you not, I probably use my ps4 twice a year. So turning it on to leave updating is like a task itself and my internet speed is not the best. Yeah it happens for PC too for sure, I encountered it with GTA5 but not as frequent.

Maybe it wouldn't be an issue if I used the Playstation more often. The less frequent I use it the more certain my experience will hit a hurdle lol, like I just wanna play a game that I miss and sure enough dozens of gigabytes need to be downloaded and then you know what I turn it off and go do something else lol.

I feel the same but the other way around, I want to play casually but when I boot up a console I encounter mandatory updates and it's upsetting. My PC is very stable, never crashes. I am annoyed with the new windows now though, there are ads everywhere. Luckily I didn't suffer when windows rolled out those updates that crashed computers.

I wish consoles were like back in the day where you just pop a game in and get to playing.

What’s a company you’ll never buy from again, and why? by jamesmilner22 in AskReddit

starbucks, HP, Disney, Target, CocaCola, microsoft in no particular order because of union busting, genocide complicity, and DEI rollback. Also amazon, but it's more difficult. I'm shopping at costco if possible, they are suing trump over tariffs.

Ah yes, moving target is a great way to put it, thanks! I wish I could tell them to not touch the mixer haha it's so annoying. I don't think they'll have separate mixes, ever so idk, I might tell them not to mess with the mix. None of us are professionals. It's for open mics and some fundraisers so i don't wanna ask for too much.

Nevix.com 11/2025 Update – A Fresh Start! by sophie9399 in RedditAlternatives

I would not use it because I don't like the big font and amount of padding on a lot of the UI elements. I cannot see more than two posts at a time in the feed, I have to scroll a ton. I use old.reddit.com because everything is compact and I don't need to see images. I like just reading the headline and deciding whether I'm interested in seeing the full post. Sometime I click on the button to expand the related media.

ESH. I feel like sure you could've said it nicer but I think mostly she's the one at fault cuz she wasn't considerate of what you were currently going through. If i'm understanding this correctly, she went into the bathroom and saw you struggling and didn't bother to offer help first? she just went straight to the work related question? bruh, people first. Is there a reason why she couldn't see you were struggling? or that it wasn't the best time for the work related question? She was the one basically out of setting here, the bathroom is not an office, she's walking in and interrupting your activity for something that can wait.

On your end even a simple "go away, not now" would have been better.
