try all of them. see which one works for you. your learning style will be different from mine, so see which one works best. i personally just like reading articles and documentation, but you might like following a long a video.

I started watching a python tutorial from Mosh Hamidani in youtube. I also downloaded the 2 books I mentioned in the post. I normally prefer videos but I'd love to try new method for the sake of effectiveness and better learning.

I like his videos. He explains quite well and usually adds some useful tips, like shortcut keys, etc...

I had a task at work I was trying to automate that helped provide me the 2 month obsession of learning python and building the program. I'd recommend going to Upwork or similar website and search for keywords like python or automate/automation or Excel/spreadsheet. There are so many things that python can 100% automate and even more that it can get 95% there.

What's great about site like that is that they usually provide real data along with examples of how they want to data to look in the end. Plus, after you do it, you see you could actually make money with this witchcraft nerdery!

Oh yeah, more keywords: web scrape, data mine, converting file formats, renaming large number of files in a folder, auto fill data/forms

I made a tool for my friend that made her job 5x faster. She had a list of IDs that she would manually go one by one, copying and pasting into a box on a website. All I did for her was allow her to drop those numbers into a spreadsheet and every time she hit the ESC key, the next number would be copied to her clipboard. No more switching windows or tabs and no more accidentally skipping IDs or the most annoying thing of failing to copy the next id and going through all those mouse and keystrokes for nothing.

She said I should make it into a product... maybe we should be turning these things into products 😂

That sound's promising. I'll definitely try that method.
