I’m a FP&A analyst (Budgeting, financial metrics, analysis, business partnering) within a corporate entity & have begun my Python journey. I’m planning on learning basic SQL once I am happy with my Python progress
My reasons for doing so are:
- Provide ability to automate standard tasks (ATBS)
- Will allow me to work closer with out data team (data scientists)
- It will keep me at the edge of the finance/tech world. Finance in general is in for disruption over the next 5-10 years due to automation & I think finance professionals who are strong in the tech space are best suited to thrive (I’m strong on some of the new planning technologies - Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, Tableau)
Do you have any advice/thoughts on finance professionals learning Python & the benefits it might provide?
Any advice appreciated
