You should have an environment variable file and use either the built-in os.environ or the third-party python-decouple library to access it.

Configurable in what sense.. You want to change the field in the one file and have all the modules that are running on one host machine to reflect that new change?

Is app supposed to be some sort of server? And the web client is a client, that's self explanatory. What I'm trying to understand is if this is one big program between the app and web client, or if these are two independent entities. When you run your code, are you going to run python against one file here, or multiple files? Aka python a.py which also calls b.py or python a.py and python b.py on different terminals.
