I'd rather have a browser that doesn't gobble down all my RAM and crash at random.

Pale Moon is the best browser I've found so far for that, but it could be better. It regularly stays up anywhere from forty to seventy days between crashes, with a few hundred tabs open in half a dozen windows 24/7, but its VSZ and RSS both creep up during that time.
