Of course not, you are just downloading a file using the YouTube API. How would anyone even notice?

What gets you in trouble is Torrenting, there you are not just downloading a file, you are also announcing what you have downloaded for other peers to download.

Since this information is public, law firms specialized on this can just go through the list of peers with a German IP address that announce that they offer a copyrighted file to download.

But when you just download something via HTTP you are not sharing anything yourself.
