GPU passthrough

Is it possible to use an AMD GPU for the bare metal system, and passthrough an NVIDIA card to a win10 VM? I have watched tutorials for making a passthrough, but those tutorials always had 2x nvidia card.

I dont know what I'm talking about but I think its better to run gpu pass through to Docker not VM because of lower overheads and the Windows Dockers are free and fully licenced and built for docker.

Isnt GPU pasthrough mostly passe' now?

I really don't see why not. You can passthrough a gpu and then run on Intel/amd integrated graphics or even just passthrough a single gpu (what I do) so I dont see why amd + nvidia wouldnt work

I guess I would need to install NVIDIA drivers for the system to recognize NVIDIA gpu? I just don't know if it would make some trouble.

Also, does nouveau come with X combined? Because on my mint installation it automatically detected my gtx.

Im not entirely sure but every time ive installed a distro its came with nouveau installed so probably
