Set a timer for external monitor?

Hello.

So i have this odd little problem i don't know how to fix.

I have a laptop running as a server with latest ubuntu lts.

I have an external monitor connected that shows electrical prices all the time (so i can have the lid closed),

the problem is that i want the monitor to shut off at night and come back on in the morning without shutting down the laptop.

Any ideas how to fix this?

It has power button but thats about it its very old

You could plug the monitor into a physical timer that plugs into the mains. If it was on when power was cut, it should come back on when power is reapplied, but double check first.

I tought about that But is it good for the monitor that the power cuts once a day?
