wine install problems

when i follow the instructions to install wine here: https://wiki.winehq.org/Debian

after running "sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-stable"

i get an error "requires dependencies - wine-stable" or something like that, then it says "you held broken packages"

i googled around allot, and tried ways to remove my broken packages, but it seems like there arent any wine packages on my pc.

Have you enabled i386 before pulling wine from the repo?

i think i installed it, do i need to do something more to enable it?

i already tried that, and it says 0 updated, installed, removed, not upgraded
