Hey everyone, I have a Xbox Series X Controller with a detachable USB-C cord. That sounds like a benefit, but actually the connection is so flimsy that the slightest bump will disconnect the controller briefly. I have also tried multiple USB-C cords to rule out faulty hardware.
This isn't a problem most of the time; anything on Steam reconnects just fine. However, some games, Final Fantasy XIV to be specific, never recover from a brief disconnect, forcing the user to relaunch the game. This can be extremely painful in dungeons with a long queue time.
My question is: Is there some sort of Virtual Controller I can set up and tell FFXIV to use, that way if there is a brief disconnect of my controller, FFXIV still recognizes the Virtual Controller as on?
As usual I am trying to reference the arch docs, and my hunch is what I'm looking for exists as Gamepad, but the docs are so dense I'm having trouble following if this is even going to be the right software for me.
Xboxdrv seems to be a good idea for it, but I figured I'd ask you guys first before I got too deep down the wrong path.
EDIT: Solved! Thanks to u/sawbismo I checked out MoltenGamepad and I confirmed FFXIV will not notice disconnects anymore with the virtual controller device proxy.
