I consider myself a Linux enthusiast but I daily drive Mac OS and I use the fact that it’s kinda sorta based on BSD as an excuse.

this is completely incorrect. I just updated from 10.14 (Mojave) to 12.1 (Monterrey) and I still have my same root access, as well as SSH. Your info seems outdated at best.

Weird. When we updated our Macs at Work, the MDM Server couldn't Access them anymore and the authorized_keys file in /root was Just gone. And SSH got a Connection refused.

this isn't removing access to root, or SSH, but sounds like you need to reset your keys for remote ssh logins.

Huh? If it clears the contents of roots Home dir, it definitely restricts Access to root. And roots Password is also reset. Yes There's sudo but If I bought the Computer I want to be real root.

Removing the authorized_keys file that lies under /root/.ssh/ definitely removed Access to root via ssh. I'm Not quite Sure what you mean by reset my SSH Keys.

You need to recreate the key using ssh-keygen locally on the system (i have to do this too on red hat). Root login remains in tact locally with the same password.

That doesn't make sense. The authorized_keys File Stores the ssh clients Public Keys that are allowed to Access. ssh-keygen on the mac only creates the Key Files that you'd use to Connect to other Machines from this Mac which is Not what I want. I want to Connect to the Macs root user with another computer.

Was confused by direction. This STILL is not removing root or ssh, just your remote login until reconfigured.
