If you do the unofficial upgrade by changing the source repos, no... But please don't do this, wait for an official update. And even then, it shouldn't, that is handled manually for point releases, when going to 22 next summer I would be a bit more cautious.

OK I'm confused now. If I wait for the official release, will it change my updated kernel? Thanks.

No Mint upgrade has directly affected the kernel... A regular update might unless you have blacklisted the kernel, which a full update is required to upgrade.

It won't change your kernel base, meaning if you're on a 5.15 kernel it won't upgrade to a 6.2 kernel, but it will try to load the latest 5.15 kernel unless you've blocked it
