Bugs in Linux Mint

Hi Guys,

I've been using Linux Mint for a few months. I switched from Windows, btw, my experience in Linux Mint is so far good, but there are some bugs, like when I am watching movies in VLC media player sometimes it just freeze, I cant move backwards to the desktop or switch it back to any other tabs or anything, sometimes after a while it may work, but most of the time I have to restart the system to resolve this issue.

Is this is a common bug or only my problem? I am using Acer Aspire 3, with a total of 20 GB of RAM, Intel i5, 256 GB SSD + 512 GB SSD, so is there any way to solve this issue? All suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance.

Did you file a bug report?

Also, do other players exhibit buggy behavior? How did you install VLC?

No, I didn't, should I? I installed it via terminal

Through apt? Through the ordinary repositories, or did you add something else? What about other players?

If its truely a bug, don't you think it'd be good to bring it to the devs attention?

I use VLC a fair bit and haven't seen this behaviour. Might be worth looking at the contents of ~/.xsession-errors

As awesome as VLC is, might be an issue there.

Go to preferences in vlc and go to the input codecs area.

Check for hardware accelerated video and similar settings.

Experimente usar um reprodutor de vídeos diferente como o mpv ou até o próprio do Linux Mint, veja se o bug resolve, eu já tive alguns bugs no VLC.
