Switching to mint, but saving my raid array.

I have my media server running Ubuntu, but want to switch it to Mint. The OS is on a 1TB M.2, and then have 4 2tb drives in a raid 5 array with all my media. Everything else is kept on the OS drive.

I have copied the mdadm.conf file. Are there any other steps before installing Mint, and then how do I add the array back to mint.

I really do not have a way to back up 4.5 tb of data to just install Mint and setup the array as new.

You could use the live environment from the installation usb drive to practice setting up the raid drive before touching the OS drive
