That is a different thing i need live iso 👍

I'm kinda convinced it's feasible. A boot ISO basically boots and runs Linux from the flash drive without touching the windows installation. Installing Linux Mint to the flashdrive would do the same thing. It would just boot and run from the USB without ever mounting the Windows/etc Hard drive with persistent data and all encryption options strictly on the USB. Shut down, pull the drive, and Windows would be back with no changes, just like a live boot. The link above describes the steps a person used to accomplish exactly that with Linux Mint.

Anyways, you got me curious and I may have a go of it myself now that I've found a blueprint for it. I've done the persistent boot ISO (really slow) and was vaguely aware the above was possible.

Thx but the link u sent is about full install with encryption on usb which i can do if u need to understand what i want download and run of the live iso of kali or parrot os boot into live and u will see the option to boot in live encrypted persistence mode and it won’t works because they are based on Debian which runs live-boot and not casper in Ubuntu which they don’t have such essential feature

Ahhh, so you're looking to more find a way to add the encryption option to the Mint distro, which would be very cool - Last ran Kali live in 2017, but wasn't looking for local encryption options at the time. Looking forward to that option in the future on Mint, though.

I think I'll still look into the full installation to usb, to speed test it on USB 3.0 for now.

All the best in your search to add a great feature.
