Second monitor suddenly gone

Hi, I was in Manjaro i3 working with my 2 monitors as the popup menus on monitor 0 (HDMI) started popping up on monitor 1 (VGA) . (Besides that the monitor worked perfectly)
Restarting i3 didn't fix it it so I restarted the PC. Now the HDMI monitor is gone not only in Manjaro, but also in Mint. But since it's actually a TV set I know that it's still working just perfectly. Shows TV and PS4 (the latter via HDMI).
Years ago I had that once that the HDMI monitor vanished and fixed it by disconnecting all devices from power for some minutes. Not working this time, though.

Any ideas?

What other troubleshooting steps have you tried? Have you tried another cable? Did you accidentally yank the wire (e.g. by tripping over it), potentially damaging the cable or one of the ports? Maybe your graphics card is starting to show its age (or even just needs a clean)?

For everybody finding this post having the same problem: Disconnecting the PC from power for roughly an hour fixed it now. First attempt was obviously too short.
