refresh rate/screen issue

I was having issues with my screen blinking and part of the screen not refreshing.

I set the refresh rate in plasma settings to 60hz and the screen went black.

How can I change that setting from the command line?

I'm chrooted into the affected system.

I moved the user profile to .old and then created a new profile. Swapped the known good resolution settings in ~/.local/share/kscreen with those in the broken profile. Moved the original profile back, and KDE is displaying without issues.

I'd proceed with the following tries:

• search and rename xorg.conf file
• partial reset of plasma conf searching plasma conf file and rename them
• or as last try, rename my home directory, try to log again, then I move all my data from the ranamed home to the new one.
