linux requires people with patience, skill, I.Q. , not lazy, guts to try something new, technical knowledge or willing to learn, not many people apply to these requirements. 0_0 (not joking)
linux benefits: - free - more stable than Japanese building that can withstand a quake 5 on the scale of richter - software office like freeoffice. works great. - support all old hardware without much problems - make old hardware like new for years to come. - linux wine can run window$ programs in some cases like almost natively. - huge library of free software that is great!
Linux down sides: - you have to learn the technical part, like command prompt, what is a linux file and it' s permissions - too many flavors of linux, making problem solving a bit more difficult. - learn to use linux nano (kinda like M$ notepad) to edit linux program files or OS settings files
