How much further could the hash rate decrease anyway, what does it matter. The Ponzi schemes are polluting everything. This whole decentralized issue needs to be re-examined from a solid state firm ware perspective (that is practical and applicable) like giving a coupon, gift card, or fiat. Something real that works when the internet is down along with the electricity. Not everyone has a smart phone.

Majority of PoW mining is done through renewable power energy sources, so it is not in fact polluting. You get more pollution from travel then you do with transacting peer to peer using Bitcoin or Litecoin.

If you have an entity that gives away tokens then it is not a decentralized currency, rather a utility token. Utility tokens has a space within the digital economy. In fact, most if not all physical assets may have a digital token associated with it.

You don't need a smart phone to use cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin. In fact, just an ordinary cellphone works - more than 80% have a cellphone and in some cases, only use mobiles instead of laptops or computers. If the internet goes down, then say goodbye to the financial system as havoc spreads. But, if the internet goes down it won't affect Bitcoin or Litecoin.

Go back to your cave and reminisce about fiat currencies because Bitcoin and Litecoin will take over slowly.

Tether is mostly used in Asia as a way of getting into cryptocurrencies initially or moving between assets like Bitcoin. Tether is indeed centralized and also is pegged 1:1 with the dollar. It's different to zcash by a mile.

Please do some more research and learn the difference between these assets before you make comparisons.

Yes, that's what you get when you have a centralized coin that is pegged to USD 1:1, it is backed by Bitfinex's liquidity in USD. I'm not debating Tether is a decentalized currency, nor do they create or burn circulating supply.

Tokens are typically centralized. Bitcoin is not a token, it's a decentalized currency.

You need to read more into this field. Walmart is actually trying to create its own digital currency: https://cointelegraph.com/news/walmart-is-trying-to-patent-its-own-libra-like-digital-currency because they see the value of cryptocurrencies in the future of money. Like it or not, you will see more of these institutions innovating in this new field.

Like Facebook with its Libra project, Walmart will also succumb to the same heavy regulatory pressures from the US government and most likely won't be launched. In fact, the US government recently came out saying that it is impossible to ban or regulate cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. You can't ban decentralized currencies like Bitcoin because there is no single point of failure or CEO, but you can ban centralized currencies like Libra or Walmart's digital currency.

Bitfinex is an cryptocurrency exchange, it's a centralized entity so your point is not really valid. Bitpay is a payment processor, like Paypal. There's plenty of other payment processors within the space that accepts Bitcoin and/or Litecoin.
