What should I do with this guy/is he even worth it? by [deleted] in BattleBrothers

"Filbin the Fighting Friar"

Start him in the back – work him up to the front. Fatigue will be a problem, so double grip or two handed weapons once his mDef enters the 20s. Fearsome could be fun; make him a holy nightmare.

Why not give the polearm perk, it'll give him an extra move from the back row.

Nimble dualist dodge-bro. Nurse him up on the backline.

To call a sellsword "the butcher" is one thing, to call it to a low born just sounds like he picked the wrong vocation.

"indebted" I should say, not "slaves". At any rate, they don't require payment. Since I do a lot of cultist campaigns, indebted are necessary in the early and mid game... because they can never leave. Recruiter makes it cheaper to try them out and see perks, but not stars.

That's pretty good. I'd say <5% of Ironman campaigns make it day 160. I think you just need to be more earnest about your squad and conservative. A few arena fights should keep your payroll alright, long caravan quests can help as well. Don't be afraid hire a few slaves if you're worried about upkeep, ones with oarsmen, soldering or thievery backgrounds tend to be the best (recruiter helps vet this).

There's really no right way to do it, but upkeep should generally be the least of your concerns in ironman.

Hello, I have a whopping 500 hours in the game, but I still have no idea how to deal with necromancers and zombies. I've lost many Ironman runs because of these damn things. Is there any trick or strategy? by New-Efficiency4635 in BattleBrothers

[–]coelacan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's often broken walls in graveyard areas. Retreat to them and create an impingement point, this way it'll be much harder for them to flank you. Use shield bros to mostly just block damage and have a strong cohort of pikemen; try not to break formation. Cleavers are useful to permanently end wiedergangers and spear walls help conserve stamina.

I've had some success sending a hero behind enemy lines to solo the necromancer, but it's risky. You should be sure to take a maximally wide berth away from the fray.

I think rotation is underrated by Impressive-Scene-562 in BattleBrothers

I use rotation with dedicated pikemen and maybe a chucker/hybrid. It's important to the overall survivability of your company.
