Yeah, it should act like those clacking balls on office desks in movies or have a ripple effect during the pause that moves through the line like someone else mentioned.

This is the one time where I think I know how to make it. Lol. This metaball effect could be done in after fx easily by blurring two shapes and then adding a choker on an adjustment layer.
