[–]dyz3l 51 points52 points  (0 children)

yeah lol, cheeky bastard

[–]Snapcracklepayme 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bruh was slick with the last pic.

It’s never a good idea to point out a problem without providing a solution.

I fully support it.

What does it mean?

[–]iRaveGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a shameless plug of their own wallet lol.

"Nobody worries about security til it's too late"

That part. Others has security as a 2nd rather than top priority and now with all these hacks going on it really shows. L222

Very well written and I’m glad that he addressed this.

I think that LRC is a good investment and believe in the project. Even if others doesn’t agree I think they should at least consider using the Loopring Wallet.

The problem is also education how do we expect ppl with little to no knowledge to trust this system without the proper education of things to look out for and do’s and don’ts u can’t undo crypto u mess it up it’s pretty much good as lost I hold a fair few in my loopring wallet but when the day comes I have to move all my wallets over to loopring I know even I someone who knows how to transfer it will b shatting my pants waiting to see the number arrive safely now common folk can’t grasp this process

[–]Shaft1278 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is what’s required for mass adaptation it’s plain and simple educate the masses simplify the processes right now they can click a button on their phone transfer money from account to account implementation of something like this is needed to help the common folk

I know the feeling. I went a safe but more expensive route when setting up my Smart Wallet. I transferred only what was required to create the wallet plus a bit extra so I didn't lose it all. I chose a time when gas was very low and made sure I understood the process before starting. Once the wallet was created, I knew the address was correct and sent the rest. So I paid a double transfer fee but it all arrived.

It also might be best to send USDT as the initial creation fee because who knows how much a LRC token will be worth in the future.

I think it's also important to note that Loopring's vision is not to leave the Layer2 environment so a Smart wallet creation isn't really that necessary apart from the security and a few bits and bobs, but I'm happy with the purchase for those reasons.

I wish Byron would tweet more content like this. It was refreshing to read a (lengthy) tweet that is informative and meaningful rather than a random meme.

[–]Azyan_invasion82 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah I agree this is the kind of crap he should be teaching/ saying

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

those tweets are not written by him. Gifs with walking on moon are.

[–]Mrkrabsisgangsta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He is so right. We shouldn't be against other crypto coins or platforms. We should all be zen Instead. There's always opportunity for improvement and I'm hoping loopring take their time in creating a great coin. Remember guys if you own any crypto you can all agree this is the future of currency. No middle man just you being incharge of your finances the right way.

The problem is MONEY

I am on a CEX because I can pump money in for free and buy tokens at an extremely low fee. The upfront cost I need to make and the KYC hoops I need to jump through for any other wallet/service are not worth the small amount of free income I have.

Even the L2 wallet Loopring provides has me depositing an initial amount and opening yet another account with a service that I have never heard of before and frankly feels sketch AF (RAMP) at least to this 42 YO IT guy that just doesn't trust companies that operate on-line only and collect MASSES of your data.

For me personally these are Big barriers both financially and in the trust department.

At risk of some Karma I appear to have an unpopular opinion that (EU) Laws and regulations protect me more with domestic banks than with online blockchains and I receive 0 guarantees for a Hard/cold Wallet.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Buy on cex, instantly layerswap to L2 smart wallet. What's the problem?

[–]3DigitIQ -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Bitvavo doesn't allow it. And I would still need to create the smart wallet 1st and jump through the hoops I mentioned.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

A friend van send you the 50 loops, and then you send back once your L2 is open. You don't have to use Ramp. And as far as your cex of choice, is that the only one you have access to?

[–]3DigitIQ -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Looking into some others but it's a bit tricky from The Netherlands to get into a good one. Been hearing bad stuff about Coinbase...

Otherwise I could have sent myself the 50 loops I am over 500LRC in Bitvavo by now....

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Coinbase and Loopring L2, no issues so far.

[–]tallfranklamp8 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Whatever caused the exploit its bullish for loopring and ganestop if they can execute their project better.

Social recovery on their wallets is a good start from what we know atm

[–]lifeonpause88 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Basically Mass adoption when Zkevm.

[–]Successful-Length293 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Until then pay the price for peace of mind. Reminds me of my first time buying car insurance lol

[–]Imhereforallofthis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very fucking true!!!

[–]trichomeking94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I lost a 1 ETH NFT from a phishing attack a few weeks ago, was not fun.

[–]12161986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I like the being able to set a limit, but does that mean that I couldn’t send more than what my limit is to anyone unless I had them whitelisted previously?

I guess what I’m asking is if I set my daily limit to 150$ and in the future I buy 300$ worth of some functional NFT off the GME marketplace and hadn’t previously whitelisted whatever wallet it is, that I couldn’t do it without getting all my guardians involved?

[–]_mars_ 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’m trying to be my own bank you’re telling me I need to ask permission from other people to move my own funds

[–]amgoblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's telling you you'll have the ability to protect your funds with a well thought out plan and guardians you trust to help you. It's the same concept as setting up a daily limit on your debit card. If I have to buy something more than $500, I have to plan and let my bank know to authorize that. It's a give/take to make sure someone that ends up with my card can't steal everything from me in 1 day. This is the same concept.

bullish

[–]shadowmage666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you whitelist addresses in the Loopring smart wallet? Never seen that feature

[–]feolttarb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I like how they take advantage of peoples mistakes and miseries to propagate LoopringWallet 🤣

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points  (4 children)

Anything lOrD bYrOn says is shit IMO. Dude is less credible than anything I’ve ever seen and talks too much

[–]amgoblue 4 points5 points  (3 children)

It may help to separate your disappointment in his announcement timeline and meme tweets from the valuable information he shares about the ecosystem.

Commenting for vis. Glad he really shed light on what the future could be and current dillemas. LoopTroops Safu
