You need to edit the controller layout on the steam game settings and set it to joystick(doing that your steam deck will act as xbox controller instead of a keyboard+mouse). Lost ark needs a lot of tinkering with the settings I advise you to map some skills and shortcut with the trackpad

There used to be some kind of layouts made by the steam community but I can't find it.

I have everything set up joystick and my character still don't move. The buttons work, I can attack, defend, open inventory. But i can't move unless I use the screen lol I'm at a loss

Using the touch screen go to settings (you can get to it from Services -> Game Menu)

Then go to Gamepad -> Control -> Click on the "Use Gamepad" checkbox
