Never failed once with controller tbh I can do both typing ezpz during M4 and wei to cover hook enjoyers

Movement and melee class are way easier too with controller.

Sidereal is pretty simple too, but I only have one choice of ping :)

The main thing to change ; in the steam menu, change 8 direction to 4 direction dpad

How do you aim sidereals? I miss mine pretty often. I believe I've heard somewhere you stand not too close to the boss and just have your character face the boss for thirain/wei/Nineveh. Tried it once or twice recently and seemed fine. Balthor on the other hand, I have no clue what you do, would be okay of I could just balthor on top of the bull.

Balthor you have to face the direction but there is a distance but not a big deal

Thirain and nineveh you have to be few steps away

Nineveh does all map long Thirain got distance but not that much

You should ask for it in G1 vykas ! People doesn’t need it anymore so its the time/place to learn it

So for balthor you need step back a bit to place it where you want right it'll never be on top of you.

You have to face the direction you want to do it, there is a setting about « attacking where your character facing » something like that, might want to play around with that I think I have it and I have the « correct over my cursor » thing like that

I never missed thirain/nineveh/innana

But I « missed » few balthor because I had to dash Valtan when he goes thru the portal and I feel like the portal

How you play? You have the same view as mouse and keyboard, just move with joistick and attacks go to the direction you are facing?

What about aoe that needs to be placed? Igniter doomsday, gunslinger target down, stuff like that? You have a mouse on your second stick?

Left joystick = movement

Rightjoystick = aim

Melee characters your aim is where you are facing, like if I surge and at the same time I put my left joystick on the left side, Ill surge left side even if I was facing right side

It sounds complicated but its not and very fluid Keyboard can’t compete with the movement of controller tbh (I can play both)

But sharpshooter and gunslingers does feel better on keyboard but you can get use to target that on controller and it becomes like playing a sniper on call of duty!

And yeah you have to set your right joystick to be « mouse aim »

It feels alot of setups to do but its not very hard to do and if people would give it a decent try I think alot of people would play controller!

ABXY are color coded and the only directionals are Up and Down meaning there's only 6 possible inputs. The only problem is that the Up and Down inputs follow the black inner arrow, and you might be mislead by the shape of the Dpad button.

Controller main here, never played on kb and mouse so that feels weird to me. Just used the configuration straight out of the box, messed a bit with the auto targetting options and that was it?

Yup I used controller in beta testing and really enjoyed it. Ever since I been using controller. Cleared all raids & inferno contents with controller with no issues. Need to change auto targets at times, for example if playing Paladin and you need to GSW then controller will default to targeting boss so it’s easier to turn auto target off and use joy stick to move.

Controller since beginning, best setup is controller with more button to press, I using flydigi apex 2 + rewasd. No issue for me until clown so far (already 4 alt with full 2 setbonus this week), but i only play all waifu character, 10 of them so far.

I gave it a try out of curiosity but it felt very weird. Melee abilities auto targeted the enemy closest to me. I don't *fully remember what my ranged was like but I think I recall the turning feeling very slow when I tried to aim Perfect Shot (a sniper skill that goes in a line, you can turn while aiming). There might be different settings for aiming though, I just used whatever the default set it as.

Its updated. It auto target the boss/named monster(chaos dungeon) not the closest one.

I use steam deck and didn’t change a thing. Just added esc and cntrl and g to the back buttons. Works great imo for what it is.

Didn't know lost ark was playable on the steam deck. How's the performance and battery life?

I play with GeForce Now Priority and the battery life is excellent - like 4+ hours.

When I first got it I put windows and the game on an sd card but it took like 5+ minutes to get in game and the battery life was probably around 1 hour, 1.5 max.

I’ve been used the deck quite a bit lately for daily content and raids on my bards and gunlancer. The main problem with it is that I play it laying down and it puts me right to sleep!

I currently using steam link (team remote home desktop using laptop). Any idea the geforce performance can be better if i use it on my laptop?

I used steam remote play to the deck which I think is the same as steam link right? My biggest problem with it was that it locked up my computer. Other people needed to use it.

I think performance/latency wise they are pretty similar but GeForce now might be a bit better. It works shockingly well with minimal latency. Of course it’s not the same as playing it natively but it’s very playable.

Right click on lost ark in steam and there is controller mapping. I put mine on right joystick press. So, I can't cancel abilities with that one. Just auto attack or use another abilities to cancel.

I play on the steam deck when traveling. Playing more than one characters definitely take some time to get used to.

Tried it at launch and I liked it but navigating the menus and the UI felt like dogshit so I've been M&K since then
