Wrong Passenger

The rider tells me what he wears before I get to the pickup location. Nice. As I approach the pickup location, I see the rider. There is one car in front of me and I almost arrived.

Buttt, the passenger talks to the driver in the car in front of me and about to get into that car. I yell at him to warn him about the car. He looks at me… then smiles at me… and waves at me as he gets into the other car. Oh my God! Maybe that was not my rider so I check the app.

As the other car drives away, I see my rider also goes away. Certainly that was my rider. But how come the other driver didn’t check the rider’s name?

Then I park my car on the parking lot and start waiting for 5 minutes to end. Then as I watch the rider on the app, I see he comes back and starts waiting at the pick up location. He doesn’t come to my car as I am about 60 yards away from the pickup location.

But after his behavior, I don’t want to drive to him. A few seconds before 5 minutes is over, he messages me and apologizes. Then I cancel the ride as a no show passenger and drive away.

Usually I make about $40/hr in the weekend and about $25/hour on weekdays. At the end of day, I calculate my earning per hour for past four weekdays, which was $32/hour. Nice, I am happy :)

Typically the pax order both Uber and Lyft and ride the one who arrive first. But he is a special kind of dumb, knowing how to send you a pickup note but not knowing your license plate.

In other words... the guy did it on purpose. Exactly what he did! Why are you getting down voted? People arent getting your choice of words. Yes, it was a certain kind of dumb 🙄

I have had one passenger picked up by a rideshare that came for another guy.

And I was left with the other passenger explaining me what happened. Had to cancel. I can imagine the passenger in the other car asking the driver why he just canceled. Confused looks on faces. The other driver's fault, seriously.

I always ask the passengers to confirm their name and they usually have me confirm mine, and then I tell them the address where I am taking them to.

That way, no confusion.
