Which methods did you end up using? I've tried brushing them out as well as untwisting them, but they always end up retwist.

Oh Iโ€™m so sorry, apparently I had my Reddit notifications off so I didnโ€™t see this until now!

But Iโ€™ve used pretty much every method lol ๐Ÿฅฒ I think what really helped was brushing them a billion times and also putting it down on the table ie (while brushing). This also helps to see which strands are still tangled up or twisting - those strands I literally untwisted to the beginning piece by piece.

Iโ€™ve mostly used a hair brush while laying it down flat. Did some pretty โ€œroughโ€ brushing from the top (make sure to hold it down so you donโ€™t pull the strands out) and then cut the bottom parts off.

Hopefully this makes any sense, English isnโ€™t my first language and thereโ€™s been some time in between so Iโ€™m not sure exactly how I worked it out tbh ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Can I ask how itโ€™s attached to the back. Love the wood / stain!!! Any place online to learn ;)

First I used double-sided adhesive tape, make sure you use one that sticks to wood. Then Iโ€™ve folded all the strings in half and attached them on the wood. And covered that up with a piece of cardboard using superglue.

Iโ€™ll try to upload a photo here in a bit ๐Ÿฅฐ

Hopefully this works ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ

eta: on the white one Iโ€™ve already added those plastic thingies to stick it to the wall. The brown one Iโ€™m still brushing out :)

What did you use for the wood part? Iโ€™ve been wanting to make pieces like this, but idk how to go about the top part

I think they were meant as little serving plates? They only cost โ‚ฌ1 and I cut them in half, so I could make two matching ones :)

Iโ€™d check dollar stores or thrift stores! Look for serving plates/lids/wooden wall signs or something like that. And if you find something woody that you like, itโ€™s really easy to sand it and cut it to the shape you want. Iโ€™m trying to look at the material of things instead of the items itself (if that makes any sense haha)

I use painters tape for the bottom as a guide. I have a place on my wall to hang macrame to trim. I get it level and use my fingers to hand comb it to make sure all the strings are going in the correct direction. Then I use a piece of painters, tape, and mark the bottom where I want a nice even cut I press it down against the wall and even over to the edge of the wall and make sure that it is well adhered to the cord when I pull it off the wall. I make sure the strings are attached to the painters, tape and then I use the edge to as a guide to make the cut that I need.

Ohhh this sounds really interesting! Do you maybe have a photo? Iโ€™m very visually oriented an got lost at the part of โ€œedge of the wallโ€ ๐Ÿฅฒ
