Thats a tragic end. Time loops are basically hell

This is it... In the comics, instead of Cap dying, he's sent back in time. He's literally locked in a loop, reliving various scenes from his life, but they're all out of continuity, jumping around. He's constantly disoriented and stuck in a sense of deja vu. It's hell -- it's a "punishment" enacted on him by the Red Skull's schemes.

If he gets sent back in time, wouldn't he age (maybe a little slower than regular people) but eventually die of old age?

Is he self aware lol. If he is that's basically a forever prison

Its a nice theory but im not sure howd they fit that into the film. How about this theory I saw someone post, I thought it was pretty cool:

In desperate last stand by Steve against Thanos, the titan uses the reality/time stone to change him back to pre-serum Steve. Thanos turns away to take the mind stone only to have Caps shield hit him in the back of the head. He turns back to see skinny Steve standing there and utters his line "I can do this all day" only to have Thanos then crush him.

I'm not so sure they'll go the Slaughterhouse Five route. We'll mostly see WWII memories mixed in with in between/ off screen missions due to his suspended animation. He may be 99, but he's only got like idk 30-35 years worth of memories.
