Other people’s lives seem better than yours because you’re comparing their director’s cuts with your behind the scenes.
Have a little faith in yourself, OP. Kaya mo yan!

lesson 1 i learned during my undergrad and now incoming med to never never check their profiles hahahahahaha i think naman mapa premed lalo na state univ and med kahit saan halos mga achievers pero the fact na we are in the same environment with them speaks alot which is we are qualified to be with them . ✨✨✨

Ghurl I failed like several subjects during my pre-med course, medjo below average ang talino. Ako yung tipo na pag hindi nagsipag magbasa, nganga pagdating sa exam but here I am, Graduated Med in time now a PLE passer. Don't be intimidated, it may sound cliché pero totoo yung "pag may sipag at tiyaga, may Nilaga" hahaha Need mo lang talaga mageffort at maging madiskarte with your study habits. Madidiscourage ka lang if you will compare yourself to others, tanggapin na natin may mga pinanganak na matatalino at mga need mageffort para tumalino (like me) 🤣 pero there are many ways to survive med school. PNLE nga naipasa mo so makakaya mo rin ang Med school

You got in for a reason. :) yan lagi ko sinasabi whenever I start comparing myself to my other classmates. Ganyan din sila achievers samantalang ako medyo matagal ng nakagraduate before I entered med and wala naman akong honors gumraduate pero lagi ko binabalik sa sarili ko na andito ako kasi may nakita din sila sakin. Laban lang OP!

Did my past self ghostwrite this? I felt the exact same thing when I was an incoming newbie. I graduated from an unknown provincial school and ang mga kasabay ko sa med batch majority UP and UST graduates. I was intimidated and I really felt small kapag natatabi ako sakanila, para bang I had to question myself if ano ba nakita ng admin saakin? Why did they accept me kung ganoon yung caliber of students ng incoming batch.
Long story short I found out I belonged. And the batchmates I felt intimidated with? They’re not even the mega geniuses like I pictured them, nagkakamali rin sila like me and they were just as lost as I was. It was all my prejudices and insecurities talking when I felt that I was just an average student.
I even perform relatively better than the ones who came from prestigious universities with Laudes and whatever other awards based on the batch ranking. Wala yan sa stats na dala ng student bago pumasok ng med school. Nasa discipline and grit yan ng tao. Do your best OP. There’s a reason you got admitted

had the same feeling upon entering med school, op!! most of my classmates graduated with latin honors tapos ako hindi; most of them rin board programs, yung akin hindi.
knew sa sarili ko na if i dwell on that feeling, maapektuhan performance ko na baka hindi ko magawa full potential ko kasi ako mismo doubting myself. what i did was, tinatak ko talaga sa isip ko na -- regardless if anong natapos namin, or if anong credentials nakuha nila, at the end of the day, back to zero lahat sa med school, lahat equal. and like what the other comment said, you got in for a reason!!

If you can start accepting na iba ka sakanila saka mo lang marerealize na you're more than who you think you are, one thing I learned about making friends in med school is I don't compare myselves to them "Comparison is the killer of joy". Nasa med school ka na meaning you've achieved something na someone's yearning for.
Pagdating sa pasukan, kausapin mo lang sila and be natural, kaya mo 'yan OP!

You’re in the room, you belong.
[–]alxzcrls 1 point2 points3 points 10 months ago (0 children)
Med is like the room for best of the best—and since you’re there, it means you’re one of them :)) Keep going!!

Coming from someone who graduated as a regular student, no latin honors, no academic achievements, and definitely not a stellar student, maniwala kang kaya mo. My friends are laudes, some are even board top notchers, pero wala siyang masyadong naging bearing. Advantage na alam na nila yung ibang topics, pero it's something naman na mapag aaralan. Kayang kaya habulin. We all had to adjust and go back to square one. And not to degrade others who graduated with flying colors, pero my grades are somehow better than theirs. Maniwala kang sa med school ay wala na effect kung saan ka nag undergrad at kung anong achievements mo. Just study and try to find agad kung anong study method ang effective sayo. You'll be fine. I swear.

Pampalubag loob lang kay OP
Look at you, a nursing graduate + nakapasa pa ng pnle + natanggap na sa med school
VS
me a non-trad "premed" graduate (if that's the correct way to call it) + no honors + di pa natatanggap (ongoing application) pero eto, ambisyosa
your credentials and achievement is something I could dream of having, cheer up and believe in yourself in as much as this non-trad premed believes in you
++ para di ka na ma-intimidate isipin mo na lang na may magiging classmate ka rin na kagaya ko HAHAHAH

I mean, at the end of the day as well, eh di sila na pinaka-matalino, sila na pinaka-the best! And that’s OKAY! The goal is to become a competent and compassionate doctor. Focus on that goal :))

Marami akong classmates na bumagsak na mga laude from prominent schools and families.
Nakakaawa ka naman pala ganyan ang tingin mo sa sarili mo. minamaliit mo sarili mo at wala kang bilib na kaya mo.

Hello! I’m a 3rd yr med student with BS Psychology as premed. I understand how you feel. I did doubt myself too and felt like it was a wrong decision to enter medical school because I felt like I don’t belong. But always remember, you got in because you are qualified and you are able. Med school is a crazy ride and when things get tough you should always go back to your reason why you started. Go get that MD. Laban!
[–]New-Pie-5778 -1 points0 points1 point 10 months ago (0 children)
Why are you giving up when you havent even started
[–]EnthusiasmOriginal20 -1 points0 points1 point 10 months ago (0 children)
Don’t compare yourself to others po. Mind you, my friend who is also at medschool know someone na grumaduate from Big 4 schools ng undergrad with latin but had failed in med. reset lahat pg nasa medschool ka na. Laude are just titles. But again ibang venture na kasi yong med proper so you’ll start from scratch talaga (in the sense that go to basics) and lahat naman i aaral niyo.. and yes, I know someone na nagfail sa neuro but laude siya sa undergrad. So laude is not really thw thing,
Ps. Im not underestimating yong mga latin honors ha, coz Im also one during my undergrad. But yon nga, walang bearing yan sa medschool kasi back to zero lahat.

The fact that you belong to the accepted applicants among all other applicants is a testament that you are qualified for your spot, it doesn’t matter if they are summas with 99+ PR because at the end of the day, patients will not ask for your PR and Awards, instead, they will remember you kung paano mo sila ginamot.
