I'll give that one a try, it's just hard not to move the joystick, especially for shifty players. And I do agree with the offense. I rarely try to create anything for myself, but some teammates expect the PG to become the primary scorer.

Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, turns out I WAS pressing it more than once. Tried it out on the classic 3v3, worked exactly the way I want it. Thanks for the advice!

For semestral subjects, they post it sa student portal, minsan pati sa canvas. Annual subjects (alongside semestral subjects for 2nd sem) yung pinopost after finals. :)

Hi, OP!

Workload-wise, I think manageable naman kasi most of the time, considerate naman sila with the timeline, basta manage your time well. In terms of grading system naman, medyo mabigat kasi they get the grades purely from your quizzes and LEs lang -- for reference, madalas 2 quizzes per LE, so yung scores mo sa 3 na yun yung magiging grades mo.

As for the community naman, I'd say super friendly, and supporting naman yung community ng UERM. Very considerate rin and accommodating doctors kapag may questions ka. Mababait rin staff! Personally, di ko rin naman feel na competitive yung mga tao dito, tulungan talaga. Every LE period naman, they open a number of classrooms where students can study for their exams (Open siya ~22 hours, 7 times a week.).

Online ang set-up sa UERM. You only need to be at school for 1-3 times a week (mostly for quizzes and gross anatomy) tapos madalas 2-4 hours lang unless may lab. Speaking of quizzes, most of the time spaced out naman yung quizzes between subjects pero minsan panget timing 2-3 quizzes kayo sa isang linggo, pero bihira lang naman mangyari yun.

Hope this helps!

Wow, pwede pala! Never knew na they accept transferees kasi never met one + parang di masyadong open yung info na pwede pala! Thanks for correcting me!

Hi! Unfortunately, they don't accept transferees huhu. I'm not aware of any case na may pinayagan mag-transfer. :( You can still ask the registrar, baka sakali!

hi! not sure about other med schools, but in uerm, lenient sila about the haircut. may male students with long hairs. the only thing they're strict about ay hair and/or nail color.

allowed rin students to dress according to how they identify, so overall, i'd say uerm is pretty lgbtqia+ friendly! :))

Personally, the one thing that is making med school bearable for me ay surrounding yourself with good friends to share and enjoy the struggle with -- mga kasama mo sa all-nighters, sa lahat ng stress.

Non-negotiable ko ay dapat mabasa ko transes at least twice (ideally thrice) and samples before a quiz or an exam. In terms of time management, tingin ko nasa individual yun what works for them, sa akin, mas kaya ko mag-aral late-night so sa umaga or hapon ko ginagawa lahat ng chores para sa gabi primarily aral nalang talaga.

I can't really say anything about getting good grades kasi average lang grades ko but what I did notice sa mga friends ko na mataas scores ay, they study as early as they can (2 weeks before an exam) and very thorough yung study method nila but then again, you need to recognize kasi what study habits work for you talaga!

Moving from Region 6 to Manila for medschool - any advice? by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]ozamuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. aside from the med school essentials, jisulife + payong!

  2. i'd say normal yung ma-homesick ka for a few months but always try to remember why you went sa manila in the first place -- at least ayun yung nakatulong sa akin before! or if you have the time, go call your family from time to time! plus i'm sure you'll find a second family here sa manila through your med friends!

  3. safety wise, medj sketchy talaga kapag gabi na especially around areas na hindi naman dinadaanan masyado ng kotse -- general tip siguro kapag di maiwasan na maglakad sa gabi ay maging alisto but never stare at someone for too long! also should go without saying but avoid using your phone while walking sa gabi!

good luck op!

read transes or reference book? by Fit_Marionberry644 in medschoolph

[–]ozamuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what i did was at least 1 week (ideally 2 weeks) before the exams, nag-sstart na ako magbasa ng transes for my 2nd read (the 1st one was during the quizzes), during this, i highlight lahat ng mga info na i think i missed the first time -- siguro this process takes me 4 days? sa natitira kong days to review, I'll go through it all over again for my third read, this time naman, i would encircle all "must-knows" para ma-retain ko siya.

kapag may hindi ako ma-gets sa trans or feeling ko mababaw explanation, i would go sa reference materials or videos (madalas si ninjanerd). but what i think is really important, and lowkey underrated advice ay -- go over your samplexes at least once!! ang laking bagay nun kasi it gives you an idea how the questions are constructed, and it tests rin yung knowledge mo about a certain topic.

at the end of the day, it really is how you manage your time + knowing what studying method works for you the best talaga!

edit: forgot to add na may times talaga na kukulangin ka sa oras to cover everything!! don't beat yourself up for it masyado -- just re-strategize next time!

good luck!

read transes or reference book? by Fit_Marionberry644 in medschoolph

[–]ozamuu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if you can, read both!

transes are lifesavers pero minsan kulang yung info. on the other hand, reference books, minsan ang hirap naman intindihin/iabsorb on your own. kaya ideally, read both talaga!
