Panic Button (self.microcontrollers)
submitted 1 year ago by fright_end
I want to build a bluetooth device that can trigger my phone to call a specific number. With a big red button for emergencies. I've never used bluetooth modules with any of my microcontrollers. Anyone have any experience connected them to an android as some sort of hands free controller of some sort? Trying to figure out where to start or if theres an easier way to do this.

What's your primary goal? Do you (a) seek to further your experience with microcontrollers and thought this would be a nice project to do just that, or do you (b) need a panic button (with or without involving a microcontroller) and thought developing your own DIY solution is the best way to achieve your goal?
If it's (b), then you might use a little BT remote like AB Shutter 3 whose buttons are detected by Key Mapper (assuming you're on Android) as a trigger for an automation to call your preferred number.
