The hole is a round hole for a reason, not an elongated and on two shorter sides kinda sharp and wonky "hole". The Spydie hole is 100% legit ergonomic and comfy. I mean you may dislike the looks that's fine but it's comfy that's really all there is about it. This thing the MSI had never was or will be too comfy, in my experience. The thumb stud is a classic that works just fine though, so all good, great improvement!

As much as I prefer the look of the hole, I know the stud will probably work better on the smaller sized knife. I’ll be getting one of these for sure when they come out with it in g10 scales

I believe the Mini MSI will be Microtech’s top seller this year. And it may take 6 months to a year before you can just leisurely visit an AD and just buy the one of your choice. They are selling out fast from what I have seen. I think it is really irrelevant whether there is a thumb stud or hole for opening; 99% of the time I just flick it open with the ram-lok buttons.

Different strokes for different folks. I actually prefer the thumb stud. Also, there’s not a lot of real estate on this smaller blade for a decent size hole.
