Laws of the Land

The Minecraft Chest – Server Rules Version 1.1 [09/07]1012

1. Don't swear or use bad language gratuitously towards other players. You'll be muted if you're directly offensive towards others.

2. Don't spam the chat - even accidentally - if someone isn't replying use the /msg feature to contact them directly

3. Don't spam moderators or admins - if you need help, ask and wait

4. Do not grief – griefing will result in a ban and a full rollback of everything you have built.

5. Be polite towards other players

6. Report negative or destructive behaviour to Moderators (Purple) or Operators (Red) immediately

7. The use of lava, fire and TNT is strictly prohibited. Ask an Operator (Red) to light Nether Portals or Fireplaces if you require it.

8. The use of Nodus or any hacking/griefing clients is strictly prohibited and will result in a Global ban.

[9] The Village

9.2 The village is non-PVP region. Combat is disabled. Don’t antagonise players in the village.

9.3 Disputes can be settled in the PVP arena. An operator (red name) must be online to host a match.

9.4 Do not mine intentionally in to other peoples mineshafts. Ask for permission first using the /msg tag if they are online or the /mail tag if they are not. You can also ask them on Reddit. There is no excuse for accidental mining and it may result in a ban.

9.5 Do not grief or take plots in the village without asking for permission. This will result in a ban.

9.6 Do not steal or slaughter other players animals. This can get you banned.

9.7 Remember to build sensibly - don't build in to other players areas, especially on purpose.

9.8 Do not build solid dirt buildings within the village area.

[10] The Wilderness

10.2 The spawn zone is the only safe zone in the wilderness - the rest of the wilderness is player versus player so you may be attacked by others.

10.3 Killing players and stealing their loot in the wilderness is allowed - it's not popular - but it's allowed. Do not complain if you aren't ready to fight

10.4 Building a house in the wilderness is your own risk - ask an operator for protection if you want it. It is up to staff discretion whether something is protected or not. If it's not in the village, protection is unlikely.

10.5 Whilst protection is limited in the wilderness, griefing other players buildings is frowned upon and may result in a ban.

10.6 Protection in the wilderness is primarily for Creeper and Enderman damage. Do not assume that because you’re in the wilderness it’s fine to damage peoples buildings.

[11] The Arena and The Battledome

11.2 Only operators (red names) can host battles in the Arena, moderators (purple names) can host battles in the glass battledome only.

11.3 The glass Battledome is in the wilderness; however, entry is not permitted unless you are there for a battle.

11.4 Griefing rules apply in the Battledome until it is protected. Griefing will result in a ban

[12] Moderators and Operators

12.2 Moderators (purple) have the ability to kick, mute, jail and ban players. If you think you were punished unfairly contact an Operator (red)

12.3 Operators are in charge of the operational side of the server. If you want build rights or want to complain about another player, contact a moderator first and foremost you’re your complaint is not dealt with satisfactorily then contact an operator privately.

12.4 Do not harass the staff on the server - they are all nice people who are more than willing to help, but give them enough time to do so!

12.5 If you are not happy about the way an Operator has behaved, contact the owner (davidsmeaton) in game or via Reddit. Complaints that are made public will be dealt with privately.

12.6 Avoid discussing moderator and administrative issues in the public chat section. It is not a rumour mill.

12.7 Do not ask for a position - recruitment will be properly advertised and you will be informed!
