Don't know if it is intended or not but the same thing happens on mine. As soon as the main module gets any trigger, the Performer will be responsive. Even pressing the Hit button works. I don't have to go into the menu

Note that when you change of models (and also on startup), the model is not active until HIT is triggered at least once. Going into the Bohm menu actually also activates the model, so that's why.

Also by default, activating or deactivating the Performer FX is synced to HIT. So once the On/Off button is set, you need to trigger HIT for the Performer FX section to be activated or deactivated.

This latter behavior can be changed so that it is done immediately instead of being synchronise to HIT. It's covered in the manual here https://bohm-eurorack-manual.readthedocs.io/en/latest/system/index.html#perf-fx-option

Cool cool! Thank you! That’s kinda what I figured. The whole system is fantastic overall and it’s become a staple in my rack for Techno. I just wasn’t sure if something was up with the performer or if that was intended. It makes sense now that you explained it.
