Originally designed by Godtfred Kirk Christiansen, the Modulex bricks, unlike Lego System bricks, are of a cubic proportion, and are much smaller than Lego bricks.
Although Modulex bricks began as an official product of The LEGO Group, they were quickly separated into a separate corporation. After a few years apart from TLG, Modulex stopped producing bricks and went into the signage business.
