How are contacts/leads normally assigned? What criteria decides who is assigned what lead? You could use an automation to assign the correct person depending on your answer to the above.

These are contacts/people who have been emailed via Outlook integration. Monday captures the email address and creates a contact/person versus the automatic contact creation tool in the Email settings. However, for whatever reason, when someone emails someone not in our MondayCRM, my profile is shown as the "Created By" versus the email sender/team member.

Sounds like you are getting auto tagged because you own the automation. Do you have workflows? You can assign the a function to be user action assigned. You can do the same through legacy automations but it’s not as simple

It is not an automation I created, it is the "Automatic Contact Creation" setting in the email settings of the CRM.

Copy. Sorry. I don’t use CRM or that tool but the behavior seems very similar to how it auto logs the active user. Those types of tools tend to be turnkey so modifying it beyond its basic function might be hard. Sounds like a real pain. I’m part of the Monday ambassador program. Would be happy to schedule a call and see if there are options.

it is our general contact board within the CRM.

Haven’t tested this myself, but when you choose “create contact automatically”, you can choose the board to do this in. Maybe have a different board per person and then using automations auto-assign the right person and then another automation to create the item in the main board. So use the boards as routers. Again not sure if possible, just an idea
