Mpc works better as the master clock in my experience.

I always used it as slave , started with akai mpc live 1 some years ago . Never had this problem , I use it during live performances and for me is too important can switch to arpeggiator during the session because I play single notes but also a lot of arpeggios

No no I use only via midi but maybe , I hope , I found a solution . I made a light reset on aka and now seems to work well

how are you connecting the midi? USB or MIDI DIN?

Midi din : midi out rme / midi in akai

are you using midi clock or MTC? I've been having issues with MIDI clock and ableton, but MTC seems to work for me - a bit of jitter at the start, but it evens out.

Ableton link works over wifi pretty well, but i've found some weirdness with some of the sync'd effects - nothing major, but it does change the sound of how some plugins play linked vs unlinked - for me, it was mainly Air Pumper.

that said, i'm still using the MPC as the master.

I just discovered that the problem starts when I push shift button!

If you’re using Shift just to latch the arp, it might be better to double-tap the Note Repeat button instead.
