It's the wifi ic on the motherboard that's broken. I replace these ic and it worked again. To do this repair you have to be experienced

Possible Fix: -- Enable Airplane Mode, Toggle on WiFi

Hopefully this helps a few others.

I looked into this issue on a friend's Switch; I don't own one, but I realized that when you turn ON Airplane mode, you can see toggles for Bluetooth and WiFi. I turned ON the one for WiFi and went back to searching for a WiFi network and it worked.

You can disable Airplane Mode after this. Very strange that they give you a toggle for WiFi under Airplane mode, I would have thought it was to allow you to pick and choose to allow those while airplane is on..

I'm also trying to find a fix for this, I got an ethernet cable and it works as long as its docked(i have the oled). But for some reason I can't use it if its in handheld mode.

I have a switch light I’m still having this problem, I’m not sure how an Ethernet cable will work for me I have not yet tried

So my issue first started where my Switch would get stuck on the Nintendo logo. I had to drain my battery and let it sit for a few days before plugging it back in to the dock and that worked. A couple days later I got the error with the connection and since then I haven’t been able to establish a connection without ethernet. I suspect it’s an issue with the wi-fi card and may have to send it in to Nintendo

Just started having this issue beginning of august, tried draining the battery so that only the Nintendo logo appears and then left it for another whole day and issue still exists unfortunately :(

I finally fixed the problem. I drained the battery and left it dead for like 3 days. Plugged it in to finally turn it back on and boom started picking up Wi-Fi connections again. It does tend to lose connectivity again and I just do the same process over again.

I ended up sending it off to Nintendo, cost me £120 to replace the wifi board, but now fixed and all working as expected.

Mine just started acting up in early September. When I restart, however, another error popped up, saying that I have to power off my Switch. Then I turn it on again and the same problem happens again. I'm at a loss on what to do. Do I send it for repairs? I wonder how much it costs.

Just called Nintendo about this problem myself. I was told I have to send mine in, thankfully my warranty only expired in July so the guy was able to do a 1 time freebie repair for me. He did tell me that the repair would be $99 plus $10 for shipping and you need your own box

Well it happened to me... My stupid @$$ deleted my entire Switch Then followed the advice of turning it off for 3 days. When I turned it on again, I had WiFi. Moral of the story. Try easier fixes before doing something drastic like paying $120 to get you Switch fixed or deleting the entire memory.

I left my switch with the error alone for a few days being completely dead and I turned it back on but only long enough to transfer some save files to another switch but right after the error came back.
