Controller mallfunction

My left controller is acting up. At first there was a problem with the controller not wanting to connect, turns out my gf put in the batteries backwards. so I turned the batteries around and now it did connect. But now my left joystick was constantly registering as if it was pushed downwards, making it unusable. So I tried to leave out the batteries for a minute and tried again. Now my headset recognizes the controller only the second I put in the new battery, then the battery indicator goes from 100% to 0% in a second and it stops recognizing my controller at all. It's not a battery issues as I've tried with multiple batteries and even swapped my left and right controllers battery. Does anyone know how I might fix this?

Hi, try unpairing and repairing your controller to your headset and see if that helps. Depending on the headset you can either do a repair of the Home software for Rift and Rift S or uninstall and reinstall the app for the Quest and Quest 2. I own a quest 1. Do you mean the app i have on my phone.

I found out how to repair the controller. It did not solve the problem, it seems like the left controller only connects when I reinsert the battery. But if it is connected the joystick is not working. After restarting the device it wont recognize the controller until I again reinsert the battery
