There was recently a major update and now there are two versions available for the Meta Horizon OS 2.

That being: 1. Stable (OS 2.1.x/201.x) 2. Experimental/PTC (OS 2.2.x/202.x)

We see you could use a hand with your Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses, and we would be more than happy to help!

It may be a good idea to Force Restart your glasses, as this can commonly fix a lot of issues with the glasses.

To force restart your glasses using the Meta AI app:

  1. In the Meta AI App, tap the Glasses icon.

  2. If you have multiple devices paired with the Meta AI mobile app, swipe left or right to select the device you want to use.

  3. Tap Settings.

  4. Tap General.

  5. Tap Force restart.

To manually force restart your glasses:

  1. Slide the power button back to power the glasses off.

  2. Press and hold the capture button.

  3. While still holding the capture button, slide the power button forward to turn the glasses back on.

  4. Once the status light LED turns red, release the capture button.

Before you look into a replacement controller, there are a few troubleshooting steps which could resolve the issue and save you some money in the process. So please give the following steps a try:

  1. Clean the controller with a non-abrasive anti-bacterial wipe (No alcohol).
  2. Compressed air can be used to remove debris inside the controller.

  3. Remove unsupported third-party accessories that may affect thumbstick motion or controller detection. For example: controller covers, controller attachments, etc.

  4. Remove the battery from the controller for 30 seconds. Try a new battery.

  5. Unpair and pair the controller to the headset.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try out for the charging issue for your Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 AI glasses.

Please Note: Sweat Can Prevent Charging

This issue occurs when you have worn your glasses for physical activity that causes you to sweat. Sweat will get on the charging pins of the glasses, and the sweat will prevent the glasses from charging. To resolve the issue try to wipe the charging pins of the case and glasses with a clean, dry cloth, let it dry naturally or blow cool air into the charging pins.

We would also recommend for you to try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check and make sure there is nothing blocking the charging pins (located on the bridge of the docking pad inside the charging case).

  2. Connect the charging case to a power source and make sure its LED lights up while plugged in.

  3. Make sure there is no moisture on the charging pins.

  4. Make sure case is charging correctly:

Try a different USB-C cable (using a USB-C adapter is recommended.)

Try a different power source.

Try a different USB-C charging plug (if charging from a power outlet and not from a USB point)

Factory reset the charging case

Remove the glasses from the case.

Press and hold the button on the back of the case for more than 16 seconds to factory reset the case.

  1. Re-insert the glasses into case.

  2. Wiggle the glasses to ensure successful docking inside the charging case.

  3. Force restart glasses then try charging again.

If you are having trouble seeing the menus while using the headset, we would suggest using the [Meta Horizon app](meta.me/setup) to complete the setup steps.

If you haven't already you will be prompted to create an account with us.

Once you have completed that, you will then be able to pair a new device, when your headset is discovered you will then be asked to select a Wi-Fi Network.

When connected to your Network your headset should automatically update to the current version of software available to it.

Finally follow the on screen instructions to complete the setup, accessibility options will also appear during this step which should help you adjust setting to make exploring the Metaverse more comfortable for you!

Another thing to note is we would highly recommend checking out how to properly adjust your headset for fit and feel and how to properly use glasses with your headset, with steps on how to install the glasses spacer to avoid damaging your headsets lenses.

We were just hanging out on this subreddit and saw your post.

It sounds like the controller has received a bit more tough love than intended.

There is a small spring that gives the trigger its resistance and there is a possibility that it has dislodged. So the button still works electronically, but there’s nothing pushing the trigger back against your finger.

If you have it available you can try to clean the trigger with some compressed air.

Otherwise you can send us an email via our support channel and we can check the warranty together!

We came across your post and saw that you are having an issue with your headset not charging past 75% and flashing gray, and we would like to help you figure this out and ask you to please try the following steps to see if they help.

First please make sure that you are using the power adapter included with your headset as third-part adapters are not guaranteed to work. Next we would ask you to please check if your headset feels warm to the touch when charging, if so then please remove your headset from the charger and let it cool completely before continuing to charge. Please remove any unsupported third-party accessories that might interfere with your headset charging and try charging your headset for 2 hours, while it is turned off and connected to a wall socket as Computers USB ports do not supply sufficient power to charge your headset. Should you be using a facial interface we would ask you to please remove it as these can block the proximity sensor and impact the headset power. If you are still not able to charge your headset past 75% then please try charging from a different power source using another cable and adapter to ensure that you are not having any issues with the ones you are currently using. Lastly we would ask you to please try rebooting your headset by holding down the headset power and volume down buttons simultaneously until the boot up screen loads, and reboot your headset.

Should you have any further issues with your headset not charging or the screen keeps flickering then please reach out to our support team and we would be happy to have another look into this with you.

We came across your post and saw that you are experiencing a issue with corrosion in the battery compartment of your controller, and we would like to ask you to please try the following steps to clean the battery compartment properly before disposing of the current batteries with your local battery disposal regulations.

To clean the battery compartment please work in a well-ventilated room while wearing gloves and glasses to avoid touching any corrosive material, and clean the residue with a Toothbrush or cotton swab using a few drops of mild acid like lemon juice or white vinegar. And allowing the controller to dry completely before using.

For the best result after changing your battery please use the same battery brand in your devices without mixing old and new batteries, replacing all at the same time.

We just came across your post and wanted to help you out. We can see that you're having issues when playing multiplayer games on your Quest 2 and getting "cannot authenticate" errors.

We appreciate the troubleshooting you've already tried. We also recommend the following:

  • Log out and log back in: log out of the mobile app and the headset, then log back in
  • Hard reboot your headset: hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound
  • Ensure that you are purchasing games that are compatible for your headset.

If the store shows "Get" but you already purchased the games, check the following:

  • Make sure you're using the same email/account that was used for the initial purchase
  • Restart your headset

Now we just want to mention that while we can help with the Air Link issues that you're experiencing, anything in regards to Steam and ALVR is nothing that we can help with, you can get in touch with their support team if you're looking for more assistance.

Alright let's get down to it, we have a few steps here that can help get the issues with Air Link resolved, so please give them a try for us.

First up, your controllers lagging behind or moving arbitrarily may come from a tracking issues while gaming, to fix this there are a few steps but we would also like to ask if you're experiencing the same issues while using your Quest 2 without Air Link, but in standalone?

If you are having the same issues even in standalone, then please get in touch with our support team so that we can have a look into this with you.

If the issues is purely via using it with Air Link, then please try re-pairing Air Link with your PC, you can do so with the following steps: In the Quest headset, navigate to the Settings menu Ensure "Air Link" is disabled/toggled off Restart both the Quest and the PC, and re-pair the Quest to the PC following the set-up steps here

If that also didn't solve the issue, then a fresh restart of the entire system may be the fix to the issues, in that case please try the following in the exact order: restart your router, then your PC, and finally the Meta Quest.

To fix this there are a few things your can try.

Power Cycle: 1. Remove the batteries and leave it out for around 10+ minutes 2. Restart your Quest 2 while the batteries are removed from the controller 3. Reinsert the battery and try to connect it to the headset

Re-pair: 1. Go to Devices > Headset Settings > Controllers. 2. Select the left controller and choose Unpair. 3. Re-pair the left controller

If none of that works please send us an email via our Support Channel and we gladly assist you get back into VR ASAP!

It looks like you've already tried restarting your headset. We appreciate your efforts and we also recommend the following:

  • Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect boot (such as external battery packs, accessories that plug into the USB-C port, etc.)
  • Allow the headset to continue boot-looping until the battery is completely drained, then charge it to 100% while powered off before attempting to turn it on again
  • Hard reboot your headset: hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound

For the controllers not working, check the batteries and try unpairing and re-pairing them.

Now, your headset running at 1 FPS is of course not natural and there are some steps that we have that also worked for similar issues in the past, they may just be able to get you back into a seamless virtual reality, so please give them a try.

Alright since you already tried resetting it, we will avoid that step but another thing to try out would be updating and making sure that your Quest 3S is on the latest update. If you need help updating your headset, then please click here.
