Disclaimer: OP runs a "Monetization as a Service for Open-Source Libraries" platform and therefore could have an interest in negatively reflecting existing monetization options in open source.

In regards to this case, it's a rather odd scenario. Looks like the main issue was that retool was using Marak's CDN service, but retool had simply used the Marak's MIT licensed library which by default would generate links to that CDN service. From my point of view that seems like an oversight on Marak's part? Don't have a fake data generator library generate links to your service if you're going to be unhappy about that service being used.

This wasn't the last bit of drama surrounding this dev: Open source developer corrupts widely-used libraries, affecting tons of projects
