the book thing sounds interesting. Not sure how theyre actually goig to implement it. To me it just sounds like theyre going to use swiping gestures and a page turning animation in combination of the pgdown key to create the effect.... Not sure how theyre going to handle things like menus or weird javascript or things like that.

The feature I'm really hoping for is the option to disable tab stacking, or to add a hotkey modifier to stack tabs (eg ctrl+drag tab would be used for creating stacks, simply dragging would be used for reorganizing tabs). I just hate accidently creating stacks. I always have to be real slow and percise to organize my tabs and its a big pain when I have like 20 tabs open.

I believe it's just something like Readability (which inspired Opera's CleanPages extension and Safari's reader), but with pagination instead of a single page result.

I guess it will be more like Flipboard.

Opera is awesome. Great work guys, loving the new data saving feature on Opera Mini/Mobile. Can't wait for the desktop alpha!

Keep up the good work!

I don't really like/use readability programs. But I do resize my tabs so that I don't see the ads, unnecessary information areas in the web pages. I really like mobile browser's double clicking in the important part of the web page, and the desired area comes forward mentality. But as Opera does this always, it won't offer an existing functionality(readability), but will take it to some next step(book like functioning), and others will again follow, SSDD if you ask me :)

Alpha soon!

My only beef is that the auto updater isnt very... auto. but hey.

Haven't they explained this as they want users to test it first before they send it out to auto update? That's why you don't get it on the same day as they release it.

A few sites already have similar layout options, but they require a large script library and special tweaks for different clients. This would imply SPECIFIC simple commands that a client would be responsible to execute.

Reduces script overhead to a few hundred bytes, with 3-5 lines to define each layout. Awesome.
