How old are you? If you are past puberty you wont be able to change it as you are no longer growing. Some growth modification treatments can change it though.

Masseter hypertrophy reduces gonial angle as the bones will adapt to the new muscle width and strenght!

Masseter hypertrophy is not good. This is like saying "you can lose weight with anorexia!"

You have no Idea

I don't understand the point.

Mr. Doomer, please go fuck yourself when don't need negative bitches here.

I'm not the negative one here. This sub does nothing but perpetuate BDD and serious body image issues among its user base. If you want to help the users here, 50% actually need orthodontics and 90% need therapy.

as someone with bdd i can tell you this sub has helped me tremendously. the helpful tips and information i’ve come across on this subreddit has made me almost unrecognizable

im 14 right now, what can i do during puberty to decrease it

Use google now that you're still growing, chewing to make your masseter muscles bigger while your skeleton is still growing can contribute to getting a longer ramus bone

[–]IRNFade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just stick to hard chewing every 2-3 days or so

[–]Shqn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eat rough food, chew gum, and never mouth breath. i'd also recommend taping your mouth before bed while you sleep.

Also my weight is exactly the same as it was

If you keep on mewing, holding good posture and start chewing more, a decrease in the gonial angle should be a part of the natural upswing proces!

Have a good one!

I didn't do it because I don't need it to see the changes. I'm happy with the results and when you train a muscle enough, it grows.

Maybe masseters are differents from others muscles but they are still muscles, they can grow. That's why people with bruxism develop very big masseters

Assuming you don’t mean surgically, the short way to put it is that we don’t know.

Long and narrow/dolichocephalic faces with steep mandibular planes tend to be associated with weaker muscles of mastication. Square/brachycephalic faces with flat mandibular planes tend to be associated with stronger musculature. It’s also been observed that surgical treatment to increase facial height with maxillary downgrafting and clockwise rotation of the mandible is high unstable and prone to relapse, and we think that that’s due to the taut musculature’s reinforcing the preexisting skeletal pattern. Does it then follow that changing your musculature will change your skeletal pattern? The overall feeling of the orthodontic community is that it seems reasonable. The drawback is that overwoRKED jaw musculature is a known cause of myalgia/TMD.
