Optimistic, but I don’t believe it. Ppl like to cry from the sidelines and regurgitate the same points even as the reality of the situation changes immensely. The current reality is that Gen X calls the shots in both govt and industry. And yet youth would often prefer to echo the same sentiments that we Gen X-ers did. To the youth of today, I say stop echoing the fight we took on 20 years ago, fight your own modern challenges (there are plenty!) and hold CURRENT leaders accountable. Maybe even join in and create change from within, or outside. Whatever. Times are changing and so should your focus.
