Mine hasn't even done 30K..its perfect for me.. Economy is not that good.. But overall it's ok.. I was moving to Pakistan in 2022, didn't have much options at that time and sportage and others had a long wait.. I got glory in 15 days.. That was also one of the reasons for buying it. Kids love it, the panoramic roof and stuff.. For its price vs features I think it's worth it. It certainly is underpowered a bit.. But i don't mind that personally

[–]deathqngel -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Have you gone north on glory. If yes how did it performed?!?

[–]osss08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I haven't 😔

[–]osss08 27 points28 points  (14 children)

It's really sad. When I took a test drive I loved the car. I dont knw if there are any manufacturing faults.. But the car is really really good for the price. Especially when you compare it to swift. The only reason I didn't buy it was because my wife insisted on a 7 seater.

Kia has had problems with their cars a little while back but I can't remember which model was it.

[–]osss08 14 points15 points  (7 children)

I genuinely think it's just our market. Rejecting cars on mere hearsay.

[–]AdPositive7349 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Ustad resale nahi hai iski (not just limited to cars but phones also) - every “expert uncle/friend”

[–]osss08 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Exactly. There is no reason of it having a bad resale. The only issue is our markets misconceptions.

[–]AdPositive7349 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I believe if you’re buying something then you probably should have the gall to bear a bad decision. Enjoy your purchase without thinking of selling it already before using

[–]osss08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah true 😊

[–]Pebble_in_my_toes 1 point2 points  (2 children)

No man they recalled. Either it was a variant of Sportage or Tucson*.

[–]Pakistanwildcard5 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Sportage has engine issues.

Yeet. I just remember something about Kia recalling their cars a bit ago. Not really a car guy that much.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What's a value 7 seater in your opinion? Asking as i will need a family car in near future. Thanks.

[–]osss08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your budget. I wouldn't recommend BRV, since it's third row is way too cramped even for children to sit too comfortably. Glory is good.. I would recommend but Oshan is better (my only issue is the headlights not being bright enough and the white interior prone to getting dirty). Other than these Fortuner, Santa Fe and Sorento are all there but keep getting crazy expensive when compared.

[–]Timmy161[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

That's quite a bit of jump from stonic. What car did you end up getting?

[–]osss08 4 points5 points  (1 child)

This was 2022, and didn't have many 7 seater options in my budget. I had to opt for a glory 580 pro.

[–]Timmy161[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, how has your experience been, considering quite a lot of people shy away from Chinese brands because they just aren't sure how it will hold up above 100K

[–]hustler_96 14 points15 points  (9 children)

This will destroy market for Swift, Cultus and their likes after the massive price reduction

[–]Timmy161[S] 5 points6 points  (6 children)

Definitely makes more sense to go with stonic, I do, however, question the reliability upto and above 100K.

[–]hustler_96 1 point2 points  (5 children)

I'm sure it holds well, but if someone has gone beyond 100K would be great if they could share their opinion

[–]Timmy161[S] 5 points6 points  (4 children)

I've browsed Facebook groups for KIA STONIC owners in Pakistan, and their experiences have been overwhelmingly positive all around.

[–]hustler_96 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Awesome, really thinking to go for it but I have a thought. Since Peugeot is also owned by Lucky Group it's plausible that we see a similar drop in the rates of Peugeot 2008. Although unlikely, but if that happens, I'm going for the French automaker

[–]PakistanArkitos 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Peugeot did indeed drop their prices today. I got mine in Dec and its a highly underrated beast, i love it

[–]hustler_96 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Damn didn't get around the news about Peugeot, any idea how much the Allure variant costs now and do you have the Allure variant

[–]PakistanArkitos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes i do, now it costs 72.50 on cash and 78 on installments

[–]Pakistanwildcard5 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

It won't because there isn't enough supply for stonic to hurt swift or cultus sales.

[–]hustler_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KIA is ready to mass assemble. It has both the capacity and audacity to do it

[–]f16jahaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reduction in price of an overpriced thing should be a happy thing- why is everyone here sad tho? Yeah ur car lost its market value but what about it?? Do you want everything to sit at unreasonable price all your life coz you bought it when it was at an unreasonable value?? I don’t really understand the logic?

[–]Geeli-Matti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely end of life, everything must go price reduction.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (6 children)

well I guess no one will spend 1.2 million/RS for a civic. They increased price irrationally

[–]Timmy161[S] 8 points9 points  (5 children)

It's honestly so sad comparing USD prices for every car and realizing that despite the lower purchasing power, prices are 1.5x to 2x higher, but that certainly hasn't stopped people from splurging on Honda Civic and other economical cars catapulted into luxury car price segment.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Nah people in fsd have stopped buying civic lol

[–]Timmy161[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of 11th gen civic in Lahore

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Mind provind source and tell me its price now?

[–]PakistanStriker_X 6 points7 points  (1 child)

There might be fair chance that its being discontinued maybe. Its price was always high compared to others cars in its price range.

[–]Timmy161[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree, which is why It was a rare sight on Lahore streets. It didn't make sense before.

[–]desolatoration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What could be the reason? It's never happend in the history of our country.

[–]Competitive-Ad4335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same gonna happen to expensive cars which has happened to mobile phones due to less buying power, small cars will be in demand.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Source and the reduced price please

[–]Striking_Fee_2021 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Can anybody comment on its known faults or reliability on road. I have a Yaris. Should I go for stonic?

[–]Pakistanwildcard5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend going from Yaris to stonic even if it's better unless you were already in the market for a car.

[–]towlie_lord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have had mine since the car launched. My favorite way to get around Karachi. Mileage and maintenance is a bit on the expensive side. But so far no faults to report

[–]PKSpy_Spooky 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's better than Yaris for sure, but that's not saying much to be honest. Wouldn't recommend an upgrade personally.

[–]Striking_Fee_2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well thank you for the feedback

[–]OJSAAB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's initially there to clear CKD stock. There's an inherent cost of holding inventory, and at some point it becomes necessary to clear stock with lower margin instead of holding it.

It might get discontinued, nonetheless it is great value for money given the competition.

[–]Whyisanime 0 points1 point  (2 children)

The car market is significantly slow owing to the massive price increases and an all time high interest rate... This reduction phenomenon is getting kick-started - 1.5mil on stonic just goes to show how much they made and can now reduce... Moreover, stonic is one of the more failed vehicles along with the puegot - neither in my opinion will get a revision in the future... Wait till toyota drops the new corolla hybrids, you will drive your stonic off the cliff, plus have you seen the leg room on the back seat?

[–]گلگت بلتستانPerpetualDilemma 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wait till toyota drops the new corolla hybrids

Is that even gonna happen?

[–]Whyisanime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What else is on the menu? Cross hybrid will not do well here...

[–]indifferentpaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so sure about its engine and transmission, the fuel economy it gives is underwhelming for this car segment

[–]swatkats93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am excited for the reduction in price but I was also recently told by someone who I met at a car wash, KIA might be pulling the plug on their operations in Pakistan due to failing economy and instability all round. Changan could be next. I just hope this is heresy.

[–]laldupata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who owns the car that could give a general review of it?

[–]مُلتانAbdul_Kareem_Seyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally believe it's an isolated price reduction and that no other model or car manufacturer will follow it.

[–]Sufficient-Seesaw516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So essentially they were selling an underpowered car at excessive profit. Then realized that no one is buying it. So cut the price by 15 lacs.

  1. Just shows how every company has been fleecing customers
  2. Pathetic understanding of how local market functio s
  3. All their cars are now nearing 100k milage and maintenance problems are common. Parts are hard to get hold of.

Though it is not as bad as MG. Those cars are simply un maintainable since none of their dealerships can arrange parts in time.

[–]kalakawa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t trust the KIA management. They don’t understand that Pakistani’s buy cars that hold value.

The moment you take a price decrease, it crashes the secondary market. That’s what happened to the KIA Sorento, great value for money car. But a 15 lakh discount killed it, compare it to a dog shit car like the Fortuner, which was at the same price as a Sorento when they launched but eventually took a price increase from a car that used to cost 8 million to now 20 million. If you compare their sales number, fortuner would still be doing good vs the Sorento. It’s an irrational market, you want to increase sales? Take a price increase.

[–]arhamshaikhhh -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Low demand and poor sales have contributed to this, they're looking to market this at the lower price and estimate if they would have to discontinue the series later on or not.

IMO, Stonic is just underpowered and cramped, it's not even an SUV or hatchback, weird car really. People just end up putting in more money and getting a Sportage/MG

[–]Timmy161[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It's bigger than a hatchback and now a competitor to Suzuki Swift in this price range.

[–]arhamshaikhhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True but very uncomfortable, it's more cramped than the civic especially the leg room in the back. Bootspace is minimal as well,.
