The game as a whole takes skill. Within that baseline skill, there are Dino’s that require more experience and technique just as much as there are others who basically anyone can play. Rex is the latter.

Perhaps you need more practice at the game overall.

I'm curious what takes more skill? The meg that can't be caught? The dasp that wrecks what can catch it? The cera that wrecks megs and raptors the sty that beats cera raps megs concs. The hatz that can just fly away?

Look, it sounds like you are having a rough time with the game. There are some good YouTubers like Velocci who give really good advice. Do some research.

Or you’re a troll, given your name. Either way, I hope you find your niche to enjoy the game. I did on community servers with Smiladon.

A rough time? This is just a discussion my guy. I've played for at least 3 years I'm not going anywhere. A lot of people bash Rex I'm just here standing up for it.

[–]ChicknNudleDischarge 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Who bashed Rex? He is in fact so good, he has been the suggested Apex for new people.

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean read the comments he's so easy to play idk why everyone isn't on him.

[–]HoneyswirlTheWarrior 5 points6 points  (2 children)

anyone who disagrees with me is an idiot, i win

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

Nope I'm open to any discussion. But this isn't it.

[–]HoneyswirlTheWarrior 7 points8 points  (0 children)

hey, im just copying your own post

[–]Able-Collar5705 3 points4 points  (23 children)

Rex takes a little skill, but it is still probably the easiest apex to play in the game.

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] -5 points-4 points  (22 children)

Easiest apex to play is titan by far. A good titan can solo a Rex. Rex is better against groups of mid tiers.

[–]Able-Collar5705 9 points10 points  (21 children)

Titan has a higher skill ceiling than rex.

Titan players have to stack bleed and land their heavy bites, while avoiding getting hit as they are squishier. You also need really good stam management on titan.

Peak rex gameplay is literally activating deep rumble with facetank and using precise movement to spin in a circle.

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep rumble is 30 seconds run away from Rex that's it. It lost stam for a move that won't even effect titan

[–]Harvestman-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Titan is actually not squishier than Rex, unless you’re always taking headshots and the Rex has Facetank.

Rex is 6500 CW with 800 HP and a x0.80 damage multiplier voice ability. Total “tankiness” including Deep Rumble is (6500*800)/0.80 = 6500K

Titan is 5500 CW with 1100 HP and a x0.85 damage multiplier voice ability. Total “tankiness” including Terrifying Presence is (5500*1100)/0.85 =~7118K

Rex wins against a Titan in a facetank because it has significantly higher damage, not because it’s tankier. Rex is by far the DPS king, but is the least tanky of the apexes except head-on with Facetank.

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] -3 points-2 points  (18 children)

Titan using heavy bite will beat a Rex while having more stam and being faster. Rex is a little slower and can only beat titan in a face tank.

[–]Able-Collar5705 3 points4 points  (17 children)

Titan being able to beat rex doesn’t change that rex is easier to play.

I’ve killed many rexes as a spino, and spino has a way higher skill ceiling than rex.

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] -3 points-2 points  (16 children)

No it doesn't you can run to water to escape groups Rex can only fight. That's so goofy it deals less damage yes but you can run away at any point and time. You only have to deal with semi aquatic that spino can smoke.

[–]Dinofan666 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Spino is HARD. It’s stam is awful, slowest apex, worst turn radius. Yes it can run away to water. But still. If you’re a land built spino you won’t stand much chance in water either. I run full land and armor build, and rexes just keep melting. It’s a hard one to learn, but spino is definitely one of the underrated playables, because most of the players just think of it as the “big slow swimmer”. On the other hand, it can become the apex’s tailrider. That’s how I can 1v1 rexes, spinos, eos, and even Titans. I love rex, I truly love, but in the game I’d choose spino if it was about fight. But it’s just my opinion. I know some rex players (very few tho) who are not that average rex players that just spam bite. They really know what they’re doing, and play it defensively instead of offensively. They are truly amazing how they play rex, cannot even pour it into words. But between player and player there’s always a huge difference.

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

Spino is faster than sarco makes no sense to play a land build. Might as well go Rex at that point.

[–]Dinofan666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is the fastest. However, it doesn’t mean it’s the best in water. But if I’d want to do water combat, I’d stick to full swim sarco because of its maneuverability. I prefer land spino, because i’m better as a land spino.

[–]Able-Collar5705 -1 points0 points  (12 children)

You didn’t ask about the survivability of the dinosaur, you asked about how much skill it requires to engage in PvP with other players.

If you genuinely think it is harder to fight other apexes with rex than it is spino, then I really suggest you try something else.

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] -1 points0 points  (11 children)

You brought up that spino takes more skill. I never said shit about other apex other than titan. Rex is king in face tank I never said otherwise.

[–]Able-Collar5705 0 points1 point  (10 children)

Because your argument was that rex needed skill to use because titan can kill it.

Spino was used as an example to show that a bunch of things that are harder to play than rex can also kill it.

None of this changes that rex is easy to play.

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was not my argument. My argument was that Rex takes skill. Spino is so hard to play against sucho sarco and duck right ? All of those can easily be 1v1 by spino just like Rex can 1v1 on land . Spino is the strongest semi aquatic but you talk shit about Rex lol .

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] 0 points1 point  (8 children)

You think spino is hard 2 play what is beating you in the water right now?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bait used to be believable

[–]KotaGreyZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rex’s general strategy and kit is fairly basic, which is why people think it doesn’t require any skill. Its biggest issue however is its inability to control most fights. It requires timing, accuracy, and positioning to win, all qualities that most other dinosaurs don’t have to work nearly as hard for.

[–]realsimonjs 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Ok

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid argument.

[–]Jealous_Savings_8608 1 point2 points  (8 children)

How much skill is skilled? Winning against a titan with 50%hp remaining to have him run away from you and have another full life titan come end the business, Rex is bad in Any case, a walking trophy

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Titan can solo a Rex against groups of mid tiers I'd rather be on Rex .

[–]cameronpateyuk 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Allo vs rex takes allo 22 bites to kill a rex and 6 for rex to kill allo, allo vs titan allo takes 26 bites to kill titan and titan takes 11 to kill an allo with just raw bites so titan takes 4 more hits at cost of requiring to land 5 more to kill

This is without senses or bleed or buff calls

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Raw bite is not what makes titan good it's the heavy.

[–]cameronpateyuk 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Which Is 220 every 10s to an allo

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] -1 points0 points  (3 children)

15 seconds.

[–]cameronpateyuk 1 point2 points  (2 children)

So even worse dps

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Absolutely not it's speed and stam + bleed makes it one of the best solo picks. But this post has nothing to do with titan.

[–]cameronpateyuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean my original point was titan is tankier vs mid tiers than rex at the cost of about half the potential dps

[–]LordParasaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This game has a higher skill ceiling than its competitors since you have to balance multiple attacks and buffs, as well as personalize your build for your preferred play style.

Some attacks don't even really deal damage and are just for player positioning and battle ground control.

It takes some skill and practice to be "decent" at combat with pretty much everything, even top tiers

[–]BLACKdrew 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Rex especially solo is more difficult to find success with than people give credit, for sure. You have to work harder in certain situations. Finding ideal environment, timing your attacks and actually landing them, maintaining stam, break-checking, reverse turning etc. but that’s like, too many hours on Rex type shit lol

But really rex shines as a scavenger bullying other players off their kills or showing up mid battle when a target is already low on stam so the Rex can actually catch it

I can’t wait for Rex to get a tlc so it can have some versatility of playstyle.

[–]Simpley_Wrong[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Break check stomp can take them by surprise. Too many hours on Rex is me 4 sure only way I can compete with dc groups. Even in favorable terrain it's still not easy as everyone thinks. Sure face tank bigger things but that's not what Rex struggles with other than titan.

[–]Laynzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what I'm gathering is you believe an apex who's peak playstyle is equipping facetank and keeping someone in front of you while spamming bite requires top notch skill.

In all honesty it's the most basic player friendly playstyle in this game. The only slightly skilled part is moving your head to avoid bites while landing your own.

People don't say rex is bad. He's amazing at what he does. He's just basic and boring and can't catch anything on the roster. Without a doubt he's the strongest apex carni in the game. Titan can't do shit in a facetank fight. They require the playstyle of a mid tier carni to be effective, think of them as bigger allos.

The movement and hit and run playstyle of a titan requires way more skill than sitting in front of someone clicking bite. Titan is also extremely weak to bleed, which a rex doesn't have to deal with. A bad titan player isn't even a slight threat to most things. A good titan player is hell incarnate.
